William Smith of Pierre on Sept. 13 2010 claimed his $10000 Powerball prize from the Sept. 11 2010 drawing at the Pierre Lottery office. Smith purchased the winning ticket at the Cowboy Country Store on North Harrison in Pierre. He says he had stopped at the convenience store to gas up his wifes car and decided to purchase a Powerball ticket while he was there. The ticket matched four of five numbers and the Powerball to win the games $10000 third prize. Winning numbers were 7 17 20 36 and 59; the Powerball was 33 and Power Play was 4. The odds of winning the $10000 prize are 1: 723145.
