As the holiday season is underway and people are searching for the perfect gift for that special someone on their list, the South Dakota Lottery and the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) remind you that lotto or scratch tickets are not appropriate gifts for minors. You must be 18 years old or older to play them in South Dakota. The NCPG is again running its annual campaign against purchasing lottery tickets as holiday gifts for children. 12/7/2009(PIERRE, SD) - Time is running out for the holder of a winning Powerball ticket to claim $10,000 before the end of the year.
The ticket, sold in Castlewood, expires on Dec. 31. Officials with the South Dakota Lottery say it matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball in the July 4, 2009 drawing. The winning numbers were 4, 9, 22, 41, and 44. The Powerball was 14 and Power Play was 3.
