Advance play.
Tickets for Cash 5 may be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance.
The starting jackpot is $125,000 and grows until somebody wins. In the event of multiple jackpot winners, the winners will receive a portion of the jackpot. All Cash 5 prize payments, including the jackpot prize, will be made as a one-time, lump-sum cash payment.
All you have to do to win a cash prize is match two, three, four or five of the five numbers drawn on TV.
| Match | Probability of winning per play | Distributions of winnings pool* |
| 5 of 5 | 1:962,598.00 | 67.94% after deduction of fourth prize |
| 4 of 5 | 1:5,066.30 | 11.90% after deduction of fourth prize |
| 3 of 5 | 1:136.90 | 20.16% after deduction of fourth prize |
| 2 of 5 | 1:11.4 | $1 fixed |
*For each drawing, 50% of Cash 5 gross sales are allocated to the total winnings pool. After the fourth prizes are deducted from the pool, the remaining prize money is allocated to the first, second and third prize categories, and then divided equally among the winning plays in each category. (Example: if there is only one winner, that person wins the entire prize category amount; if there are 10 winners, the prize category amount is divided into 10 equal shares.) All prizes are paid in cash.
