The lucky winner traveled to Lansing today to claim a $3.4 million Classic Lotto 47 jackpot!
The easy-pick ticket, with the numbers 05 18 21 27 37 40, was sold at the Westside Party Store, 2990 W. Genesee St., in Lapeer.
In total, 11,802 players were winners in the Saturday, January 23 drawing, with prize amounts ranging from $5 to the jackpot.
Over 98.5 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2009, the contribution to schools was $724.5 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.

LANSING, February 2, 2010 - The POWERBALL jackpot, which was originally advertised as $107 million, has been increased to $115 million for Wednesday nights drawing!
The jackpot increase can be attributed to an increase in ticket sales. Ten additional states, including Michigan, began selling POWERBALL tickets on Sunday, January 31.
