FORT WALTON BEACH MAN COLLECTS $3 MILLION
IN MONOPOLY&8482; SCRATCHOFF GAME
TALLAHASSEE The Florida Lottery announced today that William Barnes 77 of Fort Walton Beach claimed a $3 million top prize in the $3000000 MONOPOLYTM ScratchOff game at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
Barnes chose the onetime lumpsum payment for his winnings in the amount of $2186731.50. He purchased his winning ScratchOff ticket at Publix located at 251 Miracle Strip Parkway S.E. in Fort Walton Beach.
The $20 ScratchOff game $3000000 MONOPOLY launched on March 16 2010 and offers more than $378 million in prizes including 10 top prizes of $3 million and more than 8.61 million prizes ranging from $20 to $500000. There are six $3 million top prizes and seven $500000 prizes remaining. The overall odds of winning are one in 2.93.
The Florida Lottery offers more than 40 ScratchOff games at any given time through instant ticket vending machines or oncounter displays at more than 13000 retailers statewide. ScratchOff games are an important part of the Lotterys portfolio of games making up approximately 53 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $396 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 200910.
