DENVER The Colorado Lottery held five second chance drawings this week providing prizes worth more than $1.2 million to 103 players. Nancy Johnson was one of those winners. The Pueblo resident was shocked when she received an email Wednesday from the Colorado Lottery informing her shed won a pair of season tickets for the Denver Broncos upcoming season.
I just sat there and stared at it for awhile said Johnson who despite being a Broncos fan for 15 years has never attended one of the teams games. Now everyone is calling me and saying they want to go.
Johnson won her prize by entering her nonwinning Broncosthemed Scratch tickets in the games secondchance drawing. The Lottery holds roughly 20 secondchance drawings annually providing players with a second chance to win on a variety of games. To enter players simply register their nonwinning tickets online. More than 25 Scratch games are currently eligible for secondchance drawings.
The Lottery held secondchance drawings for five games Tuesday night including the Scratch games Taxes Paid Cash Spectacular $250000 Holiday Snowbank and Extreme 13. The Lottery also held a drawing providing MatchPlay tickets to 50 fans of the jackpot game. The Taxes Paid drawing featured the largest secondchance prize $704225 pretax resulting in a $500000 net windfall. The Lottery is now in the process of contacting all the winners and awarding prizes.
Johnson was one of 50 players to receive a pair of season tickets. The football aficionado is such a big Broncos fan that she has a corner of her living room dedicated to the team and sports everything from Broncos jewelry to socks during the season.
About the only thing I havent found is Broncos underwear joked Johnson.
