PHOENIX (Nov. 16 2010) – The Powerball draw of Saturday Nov. 6 resulted in three secondplace $200000 winners.
The first winners a pair of friends who split the ticket purchased their winning ticket at Dannys Family Car Wash located at 12020 N. Tatum Blvd. in Phoenix.
The friends credit their win to “sheer luck.” After attending the Suns game Friday night the pair went to a local restaurant where they ran into several Suns players celebrating their win. Deciding to end their lucky evening with the purchase of a Powerball ticket the friends chose two rows of their own numbers and one QuickPick. Their own numbers were the winners.
Both are currently attending graduate school and plan to pay off or at least “make a big dent” in their student loans with the winnings.
The second winner a player from Tucson has been playing the same numbers for the past three years. He said his win “could not have come at a better time.” The winning ticket was purchased at Safeway located at 9460 E. Golf Links Rd. in Tucson.
The third winner has yet to come forward. The winning ticket was purchased at 3131 E. Thunderbird Rd. in Phoenix.
“We are thrilled to have three $200000 winners in the recent Powerball drawing” said Jeff HatchMiller executive director of the Arizona Lottery. “Its a unique situation to have so many secondplace winners and we couldnt be more pleased to hand the checks over to these Arizona residents.”
