Powerball 10x promotion is back in may

PHOENIX (April 29 2010) — Beginning today Powerball players purchasing their tickets for Saturdays drawing can multiply their nonjackpot winnings by up to 10 times if they choose the Power Play option for an additional dollar potentially earning the winner up to $2 million if he or she matches all five white ball numbers and the Power Play multiplier is 10.

Saturdays drawing will be the first for “Powerball 10x” a nationwide promotion for all state lotteries that offer Powerball. If a player purchases a Powerball ticket for $1 and chooses the Power Play option for $1 more the players nonjackpot prize would be multiplied by 10 if the Power Play multiplier is 10.

Power Play gives players the opportunity to multiply their winnings by 2 3 4 5 and right now even 10 times — depending on the Power Play multiplier randomly drawn during each drawing. A Powerball with Power Play ticket that matches all five white ball numbers for the $200000 second prize will automatically win $1 million (regardless of the Power Play multiplier) or $2 million if the Power Play multiplier is 10.

“Everyone loves to win BIG and 10 times the money is really big” said Jeff HatchMiller executive director of the Arizona Lottery. “Powerball players love this onceayear promotion.”

The Powerball 10x promotion will last at least through the May 29 drawing. If the Power Play multiplier 10 is not drawn in May the promotion will last until it has been drawn at least once.

Powerball drawings are broadcast during the 10 p.m. news on Channel 15 (ABC) in Phoenix Channel 13 (CBS) in Tucson and in Spanish on Univision. Powerball is played in 42 states the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Players can also check their numbers by logging onto arizonalottery.com or by calling the winning numbers hotlines at 480829PICK in Phoenix and 18004993798 in all other Arizona areas.
