The Arizona Lottery funded a variety of beneficiaries throughout the state in FY08. The Lottery returned more than $144.5 million to State programs that help make Arizona a better place to live.
Since the Lotterys inception in 1981, more than $2 billion has been returned to programs that support wildlife preservation, parks, public health, education, and transportation.
The Arizona Lottery makes no direct grants; all Lottery proceeds are distributed to beneficiaries according to statute. Agencies administer grants as part of their Lottery funding including the Heritage Fund and the Local Transportation Assistance Fund (LTAF).
