La Poule aux œufs d’or

Every wednesday at 7 p.m.

La Poule aux œufs d'or is back to TVA for a 16th season with a new golden egg of a game and a grand prize of $150,000 or more!

The POULE PLUS offers EVEN MORE!

The Poule aux œufs d'or plus, a $5 ticket that offers:
Better chances of winning
The lucky egg "OEUF BONI" game, associated with the egg number containing the jackpot
2 teleactive "HOME NUMBERS" (NUMÉROS MAISON) whose secondary prize value is twice the value of the $2 ticket prizes
3 instant games including one with symbols

TV show concept

A game that's simple yet so much fun!
The program consists of three rounds, each of which involves two (2) contestants.

Each round includes the "Spinning Wheels" game ("jeu des Roulettes"), the "Boards" game ("jeu des Tableaux") and "the Egg or the Envelope" game ("jeu de L'oeuf ou l'enveloppe").

The show is hosted by Guy Mongrain, along with co-hosts Claudia Ébacher and Julie Houle.

The "Spinning Wheels" Game

To play this game, each of the 2 contestants spins 3 wheels divided into segments numbered 0 to 9. The 6 numbers thus obtained form a winning decomposable number for players watching from home.

A contestant who obtains two (2) identical numbers (a double) or three (3) identical numbers (a triple) will get to take part in the golden egg of a game, "Chance-œufs". This new game uses a screen featuring 12 boxes, each of which contains a symbol. In the case of a double, the contestant opens the boxes one at a time until he or she reveals two (2) identical symbols (1 pair) and wins the corresponding prize. In the case of a triple, the contestant opens the boxes until he or she uncovers two (2) pairs of symbols. The best part: the contestant gets to keep the most valuable of the two prizes!

The "Boards" Game

To play this game, each of the 2 contestants uses a game board featuring 10 doors numbered 0 to 9. Each door conceals either a cash prize or an egg. The object of the game is to be the first person to reveal 3 eggs. In the first step, each contestant opens the doors of the game board matching the numbers selected during the "Spinning Wheels" game. Then, each contestant takes a turn opening one more door until a full round has been completed. The sums of money collected by each contestant constitute their individual prizes. The first contestant to reveal the 3 eggs after a round has been completed goes on to play "The Egg or the Envelope" game. The other contestant leaves with the prize money accumulated during the "Boards" game, receiving an additional $1,000 per egg uncovered.

In the case of a tie between the two contestants, the doors already opened are closed again to allow the board to be reshuffled electronically. The first contestant to discover one egg after a round has been completed goes on to play "The Egg or the Envelope" game.

"The Egg or the Envelope" Game

The contestant first chooses the number of an egg (from 1 to 24) and an envelope from the egg cup. The egg contains either a cash prize or the jackpot. The contestant must choose between the amount enclosed in the envelope or the prize hidden in the egg. The contestant leaves with the amount obtained during this game together with that obtained during the "Boards" game. Again this year, "surprise" envelopes containing gift certificates will be hidden in the egg cup.

The cock’s crow

The cock will crow one time out of every 3.5 and when that happens, the contestant selects a second egg instead of a second envelope. The contestant must then decide to either take the prize in the envelope or the one in the first egg (value unknown). If the first egg is picked, another choice must be made between the prize from the first egg and that from the second egg (value unknown). At the end of each round, no matter the contestant's choice, the two eggs will be opened in order to reveal their value.
