Towtruck driver off the hook after extra big lotto win

– A Merritt towtruck driver says he will hang up his hook for good after a lucky lotto ticket earned him a halfmillion dollar jackpot.

Im going to retire for sure and maybe buy myself a toy or two said 63yearold Ken Rannie who said Yes to the Extra and Matched 4/4 numbers on the April 17 draw to win the $500000 jackpot!

Rannie bought his lucky ticket with his morning coffee at the 7Eleven on Nicola Street in Merritt returning to the store with a friend a week later to check his numbers.

I wasnt aware there had been a winner in Merritt when I put it through the checkaticket machine but my buddy must have known. Then the machine showed all these zeros and he said So you got the big one did ya

Its really taken awhile to sink in. I never thought Id ever win anything like this.
