Great canadian casino executive wins lotto 6/49 jackpot

– A 67yearold Tsawwassen man who has worked in the B.C. gaming industry more than 20 years never expected to hit the jackpot himself.

Naturally Brian Egli couldnt believe his own luck when a Lotto 6/49 lottery ticket he purchased at the Tsawwassen Lottery Centre on 56th Street matched 6/6 winning numbers to earn him a cheque for $4.3 Million.

After checking my numbers I told my wife Bea that we had won the big one! said Egli. Her response was Sure we did Brian.

It may have taken a minute to sink in but Bea and Brian are already making plans for the future.

I think it may be time to retire said Brian who after a 24year career with the RCMP has worked 20 years in the gaming industry including 13 years as an Executive VicePresident with Great Canadian Gaming Corporation. Ill be meeting with my executive very soon to discuss options he said.

Eglis position in the B.C. gaming industry meant he had to wait a few extra days for his prize claim to be approved as BCLC investigators add an additional layer of scrutiny in the prize claim process in such instances to ensure the integrity of the claim. But with the win finally approved the elated couple can now proceed with plans to share their winnings with family buy a new car and take a trip to Las Vegas.

Eglis win is the first major B.C. jackpot win this month and follows a record setting month for BCLC in which 4100 lottery prize winners took home a record total of nearly $53 Million. Millionaire March also featured B.C.s biggest ever jackpot win with Derek and Frances Bird of Surrey collecting a record $25 Million after matching 7/7 numbers on a LOTTO MAX draw.

Lotto 6/49 is the nationwide lottery game drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays after 6 p.m. (PST). Players can purchase tickets at any lottery retailer or at PlayNow.com.
