Moncton (NB) Atlantic Lottery is spreading the word and extending a challenge to local businesses step up to the plate! On June 18 2010 Atlantic Lottery will host Step Up to the Plate a fundraising luncheon in support of the Food Depot Alimentaire.
Specifically the luncheon will support the organizations $1.2 million capital campaign to purchase the Food Depots distribution centre said Atlantic Lottery president and CEO Michelle Carinci. This is will allow the depot to operate more efficiently and direct its attention and finances towards feeding residents in need.
Sue Stultz president of the Food Depot Alimentaire welcomes the attention and support The problem of hunger among the areas poor and working poor is very real. We need to become self sufficient in order to continue providing food for the hungry and this luncheon and capital campaign will help us get there.
Step Up to the Plate will be held June 18 at 1130a.m. at the Delta Beausejour Hotel. During the event there will be an opportunity for local businesses to donate make pledges and purchase tickets for prizes including golf and spa packages a plasma television and more. All funds raised from the campaign will support the Food Depot Alimentaires capital campaign.
