Atlantic lottery announces new managing director for red shores properties

Charlottetown (PE) Atlantic Lottery announced today that Tom Mullally has accepted the position of Managing Director Red Shores. Mr. Mullally will be responsible for the overall operations of Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at Charlottetown Driving Park and Red Shores at Summerside Raceway. Mr. Mullallys first day will be May 17 2010.

After many years away I cant tell you how excited I am to return home to the Island to launch the next chapter in my career with this very special opportunity at Red Shores said Mullally. There are many opportunities ahead and I am energized to work with our dedicated team to grow Red Shores and to attract Islanders and tourists alike to our multifaceted dining gaming and harness racing experience.

For the last twelve years Mr. Mullally was Vice President Eastern Canada for Boston Pizza International.  During his tenure he successfully directed and developed the strategic expansion of the chain throughout Eastern Canada which includes 125 restaurants and 10000 employees. Mr. Mullallys extensive experience in both strategic development and operations of national brands in the food service industry will be a significant asset to Red Shores.

Following an extensive search we are delighted to have found such an accomplished businessman to take Red Shores to the next level said Brent Scrimshaw Executive VicePresident Business Development Atlantic Lottery. Toms clear and demonstrated leadership will provide the horsepower needed to deliver the unique Red Shores experience; It is the meshing of racing dining and gaming that sets this facility apart.  The changes we have made in the last year including the rebranding the integration of HRPEI and the establishment of a new organizational model reflecting our lines of business is capped off by our announcement of a Managing Director of the calibre of Tom Mullally. 

The growth and evolution of the harness industry on the Island is of paramount importance to Atlantic Lottery.  As a long time supporter of the industry Atlantic Lottery has contributed over $28 million in the Charlottetown and Summerside properties. In addition its operations contribute 528 jobs $110.1 million in business revenues $23.2 million in employment income and $44.4 million in GDP to the economy of Prince Edward Island. 

Red Shores Racetrack & Casino operating at the historic Charlottetown Driving Park was established in 2005. Since that time it has been offering a unique entertainment experience to Islanders and visitors alike. In 2009 Red Shores proudly opened a second location in Summerside.  Both facilities underscore Atlantic Lotterys commitment to Prince Edward Island.
