Moncton (NB) It was a busy day here at Atlantic Lotterys head office with several Maritimers claiming big prizes. The largest prize went to Steven Hanrahan of Rothesay N.B. who claimed a cool $1 million on Saturday nights Atlantic 49 draw.
When Steven logged on to www.alc.ca to check the winning numbers he stared at the screen in disbelief when he saw that all his numbers matched. He quickly decided to run down to a local retailer to validate the ticket. When he arrived Steven prepared the clerk by saying Dont freak out its a big one!
Although Steven isnt sure what he will do with the prize money one things for sure he and his wife will be taking life a little bit easier from now on.
The Holy Smoke Shop in Saint John will be awarded a one percent sellers prize for selling the winning ticket.
Claiming prizes from $10000 to $31000 were New Brunswickers Tiffany Martin also of Saint John Sheila Barlow of Fredericton and Anne Marie Jones of Moncton. From Nova Scotia prizes were claimed by Diane Leger of Truro and Murray Parker of Hants County.
